Providing Holistic Services for Seniors in Carroll County
The Carroll County Senior Center began as do all charitable organizations, to fulfill a need in the community. What was needed was a way to provide hot, nutritious, in-home meals for the elderly and shut-ins of our community. Initially started out of the kitchen in Harry and Clara Sweeney’s home as a “Meals on Wheels” program, we rapidly outgrew the space and ability to provide the quantity of meals needed, and in 1974 moved into Monroe Manor, officially becoming a “Senior Center."

From those humble beginnings, we have evolved into what we are today, a multi-tiered source of programs to the seniors of the community. With an expansive dining hall, auxiliary rooms containing space for billiards, computer classes, arts and crafts, health screenings and other educational programs, we are will positioned to provide a wide range of services to an expanding senior population.

Additionally, our recreational activities and physical connection to the Lifestyles Fitness Center and Carroll County Memorial Hospital, provides an added benefit through community partnerships with other senior service providers.
